Name: Support Planner Training
Description:Designed for new support planners working independently or through an agency, lead agency representatives, or other organizations that work with Consumer Directed Community Supports (CDCS). Core components of training: Developing a Community Support Plan, review of DHS Support Planner Service Standards and expectations, and practice of support planning using person-centered planning skills. A special emphasis on Day 2 will include a complete breakdown of Fiscal Support Entity functions and an in-depth look at the three payroll models. In addition, the course is structured to offer multiple networking opportunities as well as practice putting DHS Support Planner Service Standards into practice. This course is based on the DHS Support Planner Training Course (© 2008). Each participant will receive a notebook of materials, tools, and resources. Trainers: Christine Loose- Assisted in the development of the DHS Support Planner Training Course (© 2008), and was an instructor for the course. Serene Bachman is an independent support planner and has co-taught the DHS Support Planner Training Course (© 2008). You will receive 14 hours of continuing education that apply towards your support planner training requirements.
